Picking a heart-friendly workout routine

Most of your family and friends start flooding you with pieces of advice the day they found out about your cardiovascular problem. Many will also suggest you a complete lifestyle change such as waking up early in the morning and exercising daily.

Starting your day well seems tough when that loud jarring alarm tries to kick you out of your bed during those wee hours. And the world seems all the more intimidating when you have to step out of that house for your exercise routine, especially on a cold winter morning.

Where is the happiness in this? You ask. When you are already so stressed.

Unfortunately, there is no escape to exercise when it comes to good heart health. The good news, however, is that you don’t have to kill yourself with that early morning routine if that’s not your cup of tea.

A study performed on athletes revealed no significant differences between training in the morning or in the evening (Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5187972/) It is only a matter of individual preference when it comes to exercise.

It is also important to be careful that you do not overdo things out of fear.  Things do not change overnight and your body might get impacted negatively. Cardiovascular exercises like running can causes injuries. Especially if you have not had a regular exercise routine before.

Make sure you are starting with beginner level low impact workouts. Ease into a routine that perfectly suits your lifestyle. The key here is to be consistent.

So the next time people advice you things, please double check with your doctor or an expert before squeezing it into your daily routine.
